Just Asking
Is the Disarray in the DOE Suspension Process Another Example of Klein/Bloomberg Policy Failure?
There is widespread disarray, apparently, in the suspension of violent students from their schools. We asked Lester Young last spring if these kids were indeed given due process, and would not be dumped because they were in need of special education services, the Principal did not like them, etc. We were told this was a good question. Then we asked what criteria would allow the kids to return from the "Twilight Schools, once placed there?" We were told that was a good question. Now we ask: What is the policy? Is there one? Or, is the present disarray an example of the Klein/Bloomberg policy and planning failure?
igh school principals and deans say the city's system for suspending violent students is in disarray
